How to Make Working Out Part of Your Schedule

1. Schedule a time for your workout

Make sure you work out on Monday to get in a routine for the rest of the week. If you feel that you don’t have time to work out, take some time to look at your daily schedule and substitute television time or spending time on the Internet with working out.

2. Ask for a friend or family member to hold you accountable for your workout time

Having the social support of someone close to you can offer the encouragement you need to be consistent. Have a friend join you sometime and talk the time away!

3. Set short and long-term goals for yourself

Having goals written out can motivate you and hold you accountable to your workouts and healthy eating. In addition, setting short term goals can encourage you smaller victories along your journey!

4. Choose exercises that you enjoy to get into a routine

If you enjoy being outside, go for a walk and enjoy the scenery. As you get used to walking, start incorporating jogging into your workouts. If you grew up swimming, try a refreshing swim workout. Go for a hike if you love being in the mountains. If you enjoy dancing, dance around in your living room until you develop a nice sweat! :-)
